The location of Wonderland Inn makes it a superb accommodation for guests visiting Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the nation's newest national monument, Grand Staircase-Escalante. Wonderland Inn is a mere three miles from Capitol Reef. Scenic Byway 12, the road to Grand Staircase Escalante and Bryce Canyon, has been acclaimed as one of the top 10 scenic drives in America. It is a drive that guests will want to take again and again. Leaving Wonderland Inn and traveling South on Scenic Byway 12, visitors pass over Boulder Mountain and through the pine and aspen forests of Dixie National Forest before coming to the magnificence of Grand Staircase-Escalante. It is an approximate one-hour drive. The terrain between the gateway of the Grand Staircase and Bryce National Park is convoluted and could be driven in another hour's time-but don't. The spectacle of Scenic byway 12 is too incredible to be driven in any other way but leisurely. A Country Styles Beauty Salon is operated from April 1 through October 31 by one of the Potter's daughters, Nycole, who also serves as the Inn's assistant manager.
